The customer is paying a tiny fee to put their order in, compared to me paying $20 an hour for someone to do that for them. It just doesn’t make sense to go back.
Customers scan, order, and pay on their phone while they wait in line. Nothing to download.
Customers scan your code (or tap an NFC tag) and your menu opens right away in their browser, or as an App Clip on iPhone. They choose items and options and pay by card through Square, all while the line moves.

Your truck’s code automatically shows the menu for the event you’re working right now, so you never reprint codes when you move. Put it on your window, your menu board, a sign at the start of the line, and your flyers.

Every QR order lands on your kitchen display next to kiosk and register orders, with nothing to re-key, so the window can focus on handing out food.

When you mark an order done, customers who left their number get a text that their food is ready, so there’s no crowd hovering at the window.

My partner thought it was going to be a train wreck. Pushback has been less than 1% of customers.
For food trucks, this is the answer. The little kiosk system we had in the trailer worked, but it was constantly changing receipts, wind blowing them off, reprints. With Flash Order, the orders just go straight to the kitchen. No paper. No chaos.
Do customers need to download an app?
No. The menu opens in their phone’s browser. On iPhone it can open as an App Clip, a lightweight piece of an app that runs without installing anything.
How do customers pay?
By card at checkout, processed by Square. The money goes to your Square account like any other sale.
Do I need a different QR code for every event?
No. Your truck’s code shows whatever event you’re running, and each event can also have its own link for pre-orders.
Can I still take orders at the window?
Yes. QR, kiosk, and register orders all run on the same menu and land on the same kitchen display.
What does it cost?
Nothing per month, and no setup or device fees. Flash Order is funded by a 35¢ fee added to each customer’s order at checkout. It isn’t taken out of your payout. Square’s standard processing applies to the payment, as it does today.
Do I have to leave Square?
No. Flash Order runs on your existing Square account: sign in with Square, your menu imports, and orders and payments land in Square, which pays you out exactly as it does now.
